It's easy to see why Twitter might have gotten antsy about the ad.

Dianna Colasurdo of Twitter stated in an email to a political advertisement agency working for the campaign that the video will only be permitted on the platform if the line in question is removed.

Sandberg noted that this was an interesting conversation to be having this week considering Rep. Marsha Blackburn's (R., Tenn.) Senate campaign announcement ad was taken down from Twitter because of an "inflammatory" pro-life statement. Some of the Live Action content that Twitter objected to was identical to the content in Ms. Blackburn's now-permitted advertising, so there's no longer a rational basis for it to ban Live Action's ads.

After significant backlash, Twitter chose to reverse its decision about Blackburn's ad Wednesday. "Social media and Twitter are important platforms, but the liberal left can not continue to think they have the right to censor free speech - especially with campaign messages with which they disagree".

"Meanwhile pro-life groups like Live Action and SBA List are still subject to an apparent double standard", she continued, "when they simply tell the truth, horrific as it is, about Planned Parenthood's baby parts trafficking. I fought Planned Parenthood, and we stopped the sale of baby body parts -thank God".

On Oct. 9, Twitter suspended advertisements purchased by Blackburn's Senate campaign that included the video.

Earlier this year, Twitter refused to accept advertising from Live Action unless Live Action deleted content from its own website - including content calling for the defunding of Planned Parenthood. Blackburn's campaign and any other Twitter user could still share the ad, but Blackburn was prevented from paying to promote it to a broader audience.

Twitter announced Tuesday that they would allow Blackburn's ad saying, "While we initially determined that a small portion of the video used potentially inflammatory language, after reconsidering the ad in the context of the entire message, we believe that there is room to refine our policies around these issues".

While Blackburn complained that her anti-abortion stance had been unfairly censored by Twitter, the Republican lawmaker also utilized the incident to fundraise, telling potential donors that "Silicon Valley elites" had attempted to "impose their values". "Planned Parenthood is not selling baby body parts". "We don't check the information people put on Facebook before they run it and I don't think anyone should want us to do that".
