Sensex gains 106 points on firm Asian cues

At 9.25 a.m., the 30-share BSE index Sensex was up 106.04 points or 0.33 per cent at 32,030.45 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was up 29.5 points or 0.29 per cent at 10,046.45. Intra-day, it shuttled between 10,067.25 and 9,955.80. Asian stock markets were mostly higher taking cues from signs of confidence in the US. European stocks were trading flat in lacklustre trade, while Spanish stocks outperformed as Catalonias leader stopped short of declaring formal independence.

State Bank of India closed 2 percent lower, while Kotak Mahindra ended down 1.6 percent.

Pick up in United Kingdom trading boosts Domino's Pizza shares
Investors look at the Volatility 12m to determine if a company has a low volatility percentage or not over the course of a year. State Board of Administration of Florida Retirement System boosted its stake in Domino's Pizza by 0.9% in the fourth quarter.

On the sectoral chart, barring Realty and FMCG which lost 0.86 per cent and 0.32 per cent, all the others ended in the green.

Japan's Nikkei rose 0.3 per cent to 20,881.27, at its highest in 21 years since December 1996 with gains mainly led by defensive shares, though exporters benefitted from solid global growth, Reuters reported.

Out of 1,941 stocks traded on the NSE, 367 declined, 1100 advanced and 474 remained unchanged today.
