New Flint water crisis related charges against top state official

New charges are expected to be filed against the state's chief medical executive for her role in the Flint water crisis. Wells had been in court for other charges, but after Flood's announcement, the hearing was postponed until Nov 6. Other testimonies could have influenced Flood's decision, including those of former state epidemiologist Corrinne Miller, Governor Rick Snyder aide Harvey Hollins, Henry Ford System Dr. Marcus Zervos or former State Health and Human Services Chief Deputy Director Tim Becker, The Detroit News wrote.

Special prosecutor Todd Flood said Monday he was seeking the new charges based on new review of documents and testimony that came out last week, the newspaper said.

The charges stemmed from more than 80 cases of Legionnaires' disease that were spread across Flint due to the water source, according to Reuters.

But that lead lasted really short as Japan countered with a superb team build-up and equalising the score in the next minute. Both the teams looked threatening in the second quarter, trying to take the lead in the match.

The attorney general's office says key officials knew about a spike in Legionnaires', but failed to tell the public until January 2016.

Prosecutors previously charged Wells with felony obstruction of justice and lying to a peace officer, a misdemeanor.

The untreated, corrosive water caused lead to leech from the city's water pipes, poisoning thousands of Flint residents over a period of 17 months. Cooling systems and misting fountains can be sources.

Since then, an investigation has surfaced leading to five Flint officials being charged with involuntary manslaughter and per Mother Jones, there is now a sixth.

When the hearing takes place in November, Flood will also try to present evidence that would support an involuntary manslaughter charge. The water wasn't treated to reduce corrosion.
