The Cleveland Browns have changed quarterbacks.

"This does not change the way we feel about DeShone going forward", Jackson said in a statement. "He's worked extremely hard and still very much has a bright future".

"I've made the decision to start Kevin this week", Jackson said. He completed 16-of-19 for 194 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the second half, and he now will make his first National Football League start.

Hogan will therefore be under centre when the Browns face the Houston Texans on Sunday looking for their first win of the season - they are one of three teams with an 0-5 record along with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants. With Kizer under center, Cleveland earned just 175 total yards and had two red-zone turnovers. He began last season on the Browns practice squad and was elevated to the 53-man roster last October 11 - exactly one year before he won the starting job this season. Kizer completed 8 of 17 passes for 87 yards and 1 interception.
