Besides having Colbert host the show, the Emmys are jam-packed with comedic nominations.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus' political satire is now rowing towards its seven and final season and has seven nominations in the bag, including outstanding comedy series and lead actress.

The comedian also pointed out "that the biggest television star of the past year was Donald Trump".

And next year, yeah, "Game of Thrones" and the dragons are back.
