Father Tom Uzhunnalil, a Vatican priest hailing from India, who was abducted past year in Yemen, has been rescued. External Affairs MInister shared the information on Twitter saying, "Father Tom Uzhunnalil has reached Vatican".
Father Tom Uzhunnalil has finally been released after being kidnapped more than 18 months ago. Official confirmation came from a tweet by Sushma Swaraj, the Honourable Indian Foreign Minister. Uzhunnalil will be soon brought back to India.

Uzhunnalil's ancestral home in Ramapuram in Kottayam district is presently shut as two of his brothers live overseas, while another lives in Gujarat.
ONA published a picture of Father Uzhunnalil "appearing in good health" following his release and transfer to the Omani capital, Muscat. Prayers and cries for help from all over the world erupted for the release of the kidnapped priest.
