A woman in MI who passed on the chance to extend her life in order to give birth to her baby died early Saturday, according to her husband. They were married for 17 years and had five children before she was diagnosed with cancer.

DeKleyn reportedly qualified to be in a University of MI clinical trial for her cancer that doctors said might have extended her life another 10 to 20 years, however, she and her husband declined because they are Christians and wanted to give their child a chance to live.

The couple, who hail from Wyoming in MI, have five other children ranging from two to 18 years old.

The doctors removed Carrie's feeding and breeding tubes on Thursday. "I'll see you in Heaven", was a few of the last words he spoke to this wife. The advance of this cancer is rapid, and the causes are not clear. Without treatment, people with glioblastoma usually die in less than three months. Carrie carried her for 24 weeks and five days.
