Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package celebrates its world premiere in Frankfurt

2018 Porsche 911 GT3 leaked

2018 Porsche 911 GT3-based 'Touring' leaks online

Porsche has today revealed the all-new 911 GT3 Touring Package - which is essentially just a GT3 that lacks the performance-focused model's rear wing.

The most significant distinction between the GT3 Touring and the regular auto is its lack of fixed rear wing. First there was the return of the manual GT3 and now there's this, a 911 GT3 Touring.

The name "Touring Package" harks back to an equipment variant of the 1973 911 Carrera RS. That means a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat six (one of the most soulful engines in production, trust us.) developing a fulsome 493bhp and 339lb ft of torque.

Remembering the September 11 attacks
Four passenger airliners were hijacked by 19 al-Qaeda terrorists with the intention of flying them into landmark buildings. A fiery blasts rocks the World Trade Center after being hit by two planes September 11, 2001 in New York City.

Purists will enjoy the fact that the Touring Package is only available with the six-speed manual transmission. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package can reach 62 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 196 miles per hour.

If that all sounds a little too sensible for you, then don't despair; the Touring can be equipped with every option that's available on the regular GT3 bar the PDK transmission, Alcantara trim and the Club Sport package - so no rollcage. This includes all available exterior colors and wheel choices, along with carbon ceramic brakes, the front axle lift system, LED headlamps, seat options and the Sport Chrono package. The front and rear lights are identical, though not dark-tinted. The steering wheel rim, shift lever, door panel armrests, centre console storage compartment lid and interior door handles are all upholstered in leather. It's a track-focused machine with a high-flying naturally aspirated engine, stiff suspension and a wing that looks like it would be more at home on a race vehicle than an everyday sports coupe. The seats are leather with black fabric inserts, and their headrests have embossed Porsche crests.

Other than the wing and the leather kit, it's GT3 business as usual with unchanged chassis, powertrain, and hardware. Porsche seems to recognize that there's a market for a more toned-down version.

World's most popular YouTube star PewDiePie accused of making racial slur
His actions are completely and utterly indefensible, and in no way can his casual use of the slur be justified. He was temporarily banned from Twitter for "joking" about joining Islamic State.

The gear ratio of the six gears is precisely tuned to the power development of the engine and offers particularly sporty shifting characteristics.
