In this latest adaptation of another one of Margaret Atwood's book, inspired by a true story, a Northern Irish immigrant who is a maid in Ontario, Canada along with a stable boy are accused of murder.

There's nary a red cloak in sight, but the trailer for Handmaid's Tale author Margaret Atwood's latest TV adaptation - Netflix's Alias Grace - boasts numerous novelist's other familiar staples.

The 2-minute-and-30-second trailer introduces Marks, who explains she has been an inmate for 15 years.

Marks, who was convicted as a young girl, claims she lost part of her memory entirely. The inquiry is complicated by the fact that Grace presents herself as having amnesia, unable to recall anything about the events or her alleged involvement.

The miniseries, also staring Zachary Levi, was written and produced by Sarah Polley and directed by Mary Harron.
