Indian students stranded at University of Houston, says Sushma Swaraj

The students were marooned in the campus after the Hurricane Harvey depredated various cities in the United States of America. The students were being provided food and other supplies by the Indian-American community in the area.

The Indians identified Nikhil Bhatia and Shalini, both students at the Texas A&M University, were rescued from the Lake Bryan, where they had gone swimming, on Saturday. They are surrounded by neck deep water. "We are ensuring that their relatives reach there at the earliest", the minister said further in series of tweets.

Swaraj added that they endeavoured to deliver food but US Coast Guard did not allow as boats were required for rescue operations.

Judging from U.S. federal disaster declarations, the storm, the worst to hit the country in more than a decade, has so far affected about a quarter of the Texas population, or 6.8 million people.
