While Chelsea's interest in the 27-year-old has seemingly gotten stronger after the club allowed Nemanja Matic to join José Mourinho at Manchester United, the Blues have not submitted an improved offer after Leicester City rejected the opening lowball "some weeks ago".

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be prepared to pay that kind of money but Drinkwater would provide solid competition for the likes of Bakayoko, N'Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas if he were to move to Stamford Bridge and he'd also boost the clubs homegrown quota. If Chelsea can get Drinkwater, then he will reunite with ex-Leicester star Ngolo Kanté.

However, it would appear that Leicester City boss Shakespeare has no intention of letting one of his club's prized assets leave the King Power Stadium this summer.

He added that the deaths "could be (due to) natural (causes), as many patients admitted at the hospital are serious". Over the years, there have been a number of other such gut-wrenching tragedies resulting in high death tolls.

Chelsea have spent almost £150million on signing Alvaro Morata, Antonio Rudiger and Bakayoko this summer but Conte is keen to add three of four new faces to his squad before the window closes.

Conte is now preparing his Chelsea side to kick off their Premier League title defence with a home clash against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
