Coutinho requests transfer from Liverpool?

In a statement yesterday, the club's owners said its "definitive stance" was that "no offers will be considered".

On Wednesday 9th, the Reds rejected a 100 million euros bid (£90m) from Barcelona for the 25-year-old, who is out of Saturday's trip to Watford with injury.

Liverpool will not sell Philippe Coutinho at whatever price this season, the club's owners have insisted.

Three Watford players - Roberto Pereyra, Daryl Janmaat and Okaka - all went off with muscle injuries in Marco Silva's first league game in charge of the club.

Yet with Liverpool steadfastly refusing to soften their position in the face of a third offer, Coutinho made a decision to attempt to take matters into his own hands.

Philippe Coutinho has handed in a transfer request at Liverpool
LIVERPOOL fans have been forced to watch on in horror as the continuing transfer saga surrounding Philippe Coutinho has raged on. In the face of such unforeseen failures, Klopp remained contented saying the club is incomparable to any other.

The Reds' stance on the player has been consistent throughout the transfer window, with the Merseysiders remaining adamant he is not for sale.

The statement issued by FSG read: "We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho".

It was pretty clear what the club said about it.

"I don't think (it changes anything)".

"I said he's not that type of player - but I don't know what that means when you say that".

Barcelona are fast running out of options in their hunt for a replacement for Neymar - who moved to PSG in a £198m deal - with another target, Ousmane Dembele, also blocked from moving by Borussia Dortmund.

Despite signing a five-year contract with Liverpool in January, Coutinho reportedly now wants out and Barcelona are determined to get their man as they remain freshly flushed with funds following Neymar's world record move to Paris Saint-Germain.

In the press conference, Klopp was asked about trying to keep Coutinho happy.

"Clyney had a problem from the first day and now Phil with the back. He's not available and is also a doubt for Tuesday", he added.

"I've spoken a few times about how I'm not the president of the supporters' club for loaning players, giving them to other clubs, especially at a very young age", revealed Klopp, referring to his previous criticism of the English loan system.
