A newly released poll reveals that more than 50 percent of Republicans would support postponing the 2020 presidential election if President Donald Trump proposed it to ensure that only eligible United States citizens were allowed to vote. Fifty-six percent answered that they would support the measure if Trump and Congress approved of it.
The Post poll of 1,325 Americans showed most of the 650 who identified as Republicans have bought into Trump's doubts - and would give him free reign over the next election.

The poll asked respondents if they would support postponing the 2020 election if Trump suggested proposed delaying it until the country can make sure that only eligible American citizens can vote.
The survey first asked a series of questions about the 2016 election, including whether or not Trump won the popular vote, whether they thought illegal immigrants voted, and whether or not widespread voter fraud occurred.
The poll was created using responses gathered in the middle of June before a lot of the chaos that has led to Trump's declining position in popularity polls and a recent poll that showed only a quarter of respondents believe what comes out of The White House. Everything? Maybe we'll find out someday, but the hypothetical suspension of an election and possible Russian collusion don't seem to have done the trick.
